Getting ready for Fun Friday!!!

Today we are setting up for our schools FUN FRIDAY!!! That's when the year 5 and 6's set up fun games to play between 11:30 to 1:00. I'm making a game called Back Your Butt Up with my friends Toby,Alexis,Magic,Amethyst and Cassidy who also have blogs that you might be interested in.

Argument Writing Activity

This is an activity we did when we were learning how to write argument writing.

Something I think I have done well  is doing the structure of the argument.

Next time I think I could improve by fattenin it out the facts I have.

Structure Beginning Middle End Conclusion

Title A belief statement A paragraph about your first reason with supporting facts. A paragraph about your second reason with supporting facts. A paragraph about your third reason with supporting facts. A paragraph that winds up your argument by re-stating your reasons in a different way.

Picking Up Clothes. I believe that people should not leave their clothes lying all over the floor. Firstly, if you leave clean and dirty clothes on the floor they will get all mixed up and will have to washed again. This is a waste of time and money because washing powder and water are not free. Secondly, leaving clothes all over the floor is messy and makes your house look bad. No one wants a house that looks like that, do they? Finally, If you always put your clean clothes away in a drawer or wardrobe and your dirty clothes in the washing basket, you will be organised and able to find the clothes when you want them. I’m sure you will totally agree that if you keep your clothes in the right place, your house will look tidy, you will save time and money and you won’t be late for work because you couldn’t find any clean undies.   Adapted from Primary Writing Book B  RIC Publications 2006

4. Fill in the missing words: Clean and dirty clothes can get mixed up if they are left on the floor. A house will look bad if there are clothes all over the floor. You should put your clothes away in your draw/wardrope. If you put your clothes in the right place, you should be able to find them. You should put dirty clothes into a washing basket.

Onesie Day

Today we had an animal onesie day because we are fundraising for the year 1 & 2 zoo trip.Our group dressed up as cows.Cows are a type of mammal.They belong to the bovidae family.

“Hurry up! Get in line!” Screeched the teacher as we all piled into the bus. The bus started with a big bang then  we headed off. I Glanced over at the window to see the beautiful sights. Our chattering made the bus sound  as loud as a cage of giant elephants. Suddenly silence fell over the bus,we were there.

Have you ever slept with the sharks before? That’s what we were planning to do at Kelly Tarlton’s.             We stumbled in like a bunch of big fat rhinos. There stood a man with snowy white hair also wearing fine looking clothes with the politest smile. We went silent as he stood in front of us. He was so still he was a statue. “Hello class my name is Jacob” He announced with a bold voice. “Come this way” He said with a sway bellow voice. We walked in silence following him.

Thump! Thump! Our feet banged on the ground like a jumble of giant clashing boulders. The roof above us was a clear tank full of vicious sharks, deep-blue stingrays and cute jellyfish. A light blue shadow flicked by me. “What was that!”I said in shock but no one took any notice of me. I was the invisible man. We carried on down the huge hall.                                        

After we got into our sleeping bags we tried to fall asleep but the passing sharks kept throwing ghostly shadows that haunted the night. I couldn’t sleep. All I could think about was the shark tank braking and munching on us. Finally after a very long long night It was time to go home so we packed up and headed to the bus. "GoodBye! 342 Thank You!" We yelled and hopped into the bus.

 

Moment In time Recount

This is an activity we did when we were learning how to do similes and metaphors.

Something I think I have done well  is my similes.

Next time I think I could improve by doing a little bit more metaphors.

A new digital learning object.

This week we have been trailing how to use Storyboard-That as a digital learning tool.
We had to create a vocabulary storyboard based on the book The Anzac Puppy.
I chose to create most of my images from the internet, but creating my cartoon images was fun too.

I love working on Storyboard-That!
