This term we are learning about Paul Jennings. Paul Jennings is an author that writes short stories.We had an activity about the short story 'Skeleton on the dunny'. It was a funny short story that I enjoyed because it had lots of funny words and it made a picture in my head. I chose to do a word search about it. Here is my work below.

We are learning how to read and write scientific reports. We have been doing experiments and writing about them. This is a reading activity we did. We had to be able to match a title for a report with a wondering question.

Freezing Water.	What will happen when you mix vinegar and baking soda?
Floating and Sinking.	What will happen to an ice cube if you take it out of the freezer?
Kitchen Chemistry.	Which materials make the best insulators?
Disappearing Water.	What happens when you put a container of water into a freezer?
Keep Your Cool.	What will happen to a puddle of water on a hot day?
Ice Cube Experiment.	Does Blutack float?

Zoofari!!!

This week we on Wednesday we travelled by bus to Auckland zoo for a Zoofari!
Here is some photos of us going down to Auckland (which was very tiring) and a picture of one of most CUTEST TIGERS!!! We also got to see some of the old cheetahs there when they have their morning walks through the zoo.There was also a cool playground at the zoo too next to the kunekune pigs pen.My group was Kirsten,Tylah,Carlos,Depla and I and our parent was Jason.

I am working on a report about red pandas and I saw one! They were fluffier than I thought they would be,Did you know one patch of a red panda's fur can cover one whole retriever dog! They need their fur to keep warm in winter where we are currently in now.

My basic facts progress

Here is my basic facts progress for this year. In Term 1 I was working on Stage 5 and I got a score of 29/60. In Term 2, my basic facts score for Stage 5 was 57/60 so my teachers said I was ready for Stage 6. So, I did the Stage 6 test and got 14/45. There is some hard stuff on Stage 6 but I’m lucky because we have some expert kids in Team Moana who can help us.
