A new digital learning object.

Kia ora
This week we have been trailing how to use Storyboard-That as a digital learning tool.
We had to create a vocabulary storyboard based on the book The Anzac Puppy.
I chose to create most of my images from the internet, but creating my cartoon images was fun too.
Here is my work.
I love working on Storyboard-That!

Fractions

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to do improper and simplify fractions.
Something I think I have done well  is with the simplifying fractions.
Next time I think I could improve by learning more about improper fractions.

Narrative Writing

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to write narratives
Something I think I have done well  is how I described what the children do to change the world.
Next time I think I could improve by describing the characters a bit more

Seasons Of The Year
Once long, long ago when the world was young and had no night or day there lived four loving children. These children were special to the world, They could change the world.Their names were Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. Summer was the oldest out of his siblings so he went first, Summer made the world hot like a burning desert with no rain to be seen. But, Autumn did not like the hot so she decided to take over.  Autumn made the days just the right temperature but she made the trees’ leaves fall down and get whisked away with the whispering breeze.  Winter became furious because there were no leaves on the trees for her to put snowy hats on, so she thought she deserved to take over Autumn’s place. Winter made the world cold and silent with snowy hats on trees and little snowflakes flooding the world.
Lastly, little Spring who loved her older siblings wanted to make the world not too hot and not too cold for Autumn and Summer.  After the cold winter days, Little Spring thought to bring light and joy to the world so she made the flowers bob up and out of their cold holiday and into their new environment of warm sunlight. She made the breeze whisper softly on the glistening glossy green rich grass on the countryside.

Cricket

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to bowl in cricket.
Something I think I have done well is my windmill - when you go to throw the ball you but the hand that has the ball in it and but it down at your thigh but the other foot up and aim at the sky with your other hand and then spin your hand at the target and then throw the ball.
Next time I think I could improve by aiming more at the target instead of the side.

Summer Swims

Summer Swims.

Here is my first poem/story for 2017

My brother Buster leapt through the cold, breaking waves.
Swooosh, Went the sea as it knocked he and I over.
We glided through the cold salty water,
It breathed over my body like a cold ghost,.
While the sun shone happily on our faces.
Close by, big, white, boats bobbed happily,
This Had to be The Best kiwi summer ever.

Splish! Splash!Slop!
Went my cold sandy feet scattering the hot golden sand.
Eeeerrrr!!!
Out of the water it was freezing
I walked to Mum whinging while she held out a pink and orange stripy towel.
Mum wrapped the towel and her arms around me and squeezed me so I got warm and snug.
I pushed out one arm out of my towel so I could eat,
And took three big bites of Mum’s delicious ham sammies.

I jumped out of my towel and sprinted back to the water.
In one big SPLASH  I was fully drenched again.
Beach, Hawaii, Ocean, Sea, ...I love Summer Swims!!!

The story comes from a culture.
It has non-human characters like gods.
It can have some real characters like plants, humans and other animals.
It is set in a certain place.
It explains a certain phenomenon or says why things are the way they are.
The main parts of the story are:
